Tinkles the elf

Tinkles shrunk the food!

Tinkles is much smaller than us so it seems fair that she prefers smaller food portions than us…

Apparently, Tinkles created a food shrinking machine overnight and proceeded to make herself some elf-sized marshmallow and freckles treats! This is something of a highlight of Tinkles’ behaviour over the month as far as my kids are concerned – they loved looking at the machine and tiny food portions.

My son determined she used an empty Lindt box (maybe that’s her excuse for eating our chocolates? LOL!) to create her machine and that the tab designed for closing the box is what pushes down on the large food to force it into the smaller size (I love how he investigated the box carefully to decide this, all without touching the box or Tinkles!) The family decision is that Lindt boxes are a bit magic already so Tinkles was clever to use that box when making her machine – although we started wondering if Lindt balls start much larger in the Lindt factory…

Tinkles found some new playmates…

So yesterday we put together our collectables and I said the kids could decide where to put them. However, it appears that Tinkles has decided for them and our collectables are in an empty cupboard with Tinkles this morning!

Tinkles the Elf tries riding a bike

Good plan to get some more exercise Tinkles, but I think this bike is a little too big for you! But it has inspired us to go for a bike ride today so thanks Tinkles.

Making gingerbread with Tinkles

Not so conveniently placed, Tinkles was sitting in front of the pantry this morning inviting the kids to cook with her!

She was helpful by getting out a bowl and spoons, some flour, sugar and food dye, and left a note for the children. She even had two Christmas aprons ready for the children, along with some gingerbread train cutters.

Being a school day, we can’t do the cooking until this afternoon (but it does help fill in the ‘what do we take to the after school party tomorrow?’ question!) Of course, we will have to use a different bowl and spoon as Tinkles is sitting in the bowl! I didn’t realise it straight away, but my son wrote a note to Tinkles in response, too.

Tinkles asked “Would you like to bake with me? Maybe we could make some biscuits…” and my son responded with “Yes, But I have to go to school and I can’t touch you!”

An elf popping out of a kitchen drawer!

Peaking out of the kitchen drawers this morning – I think Tinkles knows finding her was pretty tough twice this week (in the laundry and with the elephant tea set) so she made it easy today!

Not sure how exciting it would have been inside a drawer of plates and bowls though, not if Santa needs reports about our kitchen drawers 🙂

Tinkles the Elf finds some elephants

This must be the week of hiding well as it again took us a while to find Tinkles the Elf today, although we did manage it before leaving for school unlike when she hid in the washing machine!

In the lounge room there is a glass fronted cabinet with glass shelves. It was on one of those shelves, interacting with an elephant tea set, that we found Tinkles. Luckily there is little tinsel around that cabinet so it was easier to spot her red and green outfit!

Tinkles the Elf hides in the laundry

Tinkles was well hidden today – I ended up finding her long after the kids had gone to school as she was sitting in the door of the washing machine! Not sure if she thinks she needs a clean or she just thought it was a funny spot to hide – lucky I spotted her before I put on a load of washing as it may have been a bit dangerous for an elf…

Tinkles just hanging around…

Tinkles was hanging in a ceiling air vent this morning!

Tinkles having a tinkle on the piano!

Maybe she was inspired by last night’s Lego piano from the Lego Friends advent calendar, but we found Tinkles sitting on the piano this morning. Just as well it is electric and unplugged or we may have been woken during the night with her tinkling with the keys!

I wonder if we should get some Christmas sheet music for Tinkles (or my daughter anyway!) so we can have some live carols and Christmas songs....

TV time for Tinkles the Elf last night…

Even Tinkles seems to say Thank Goodness Its Friday as she sits on the couch to relax with some TV – wonder if she sneaked in some Christmas movies while we were asleep?

Tinkles the elf finds our Christmas books

It took a while to find Tinkles this morning – yet she was in an obvious place as we found her sitting on some of our Christmas books!

Front door elf welcome!

Being warm, we had the front door open overnight. Tinkles must have been curious about our front yard or perhaps she just wanted to greet the friends who arrived this morning to walk to school with us – whatever her reason, Tinkles formed he welcome by sitting on the front door handle.
