19

It’s Wednesday and it’s day 19 in our countdown

Wednesday, middle of the working week and heading for our last weekend before Christmas…

What Christmas cooking have you done this year? Maybe some edible gifts, a gingerbread creation, vanilla wreaths or perhaps some Turron.

Lego City

The Lego City advent calendar’s flap revealed a lot of pieces tonight – my son formed them into two remote cars and two remote controllers, with a lo of spare pieces left over. I wonder how many kids will get a remote control car from Santa this year?

Lego Friends

We now have a gingerbread man ornament hanging up, thanks to the Friends calendar. He is quite cute and but I don’t think he’d be as much fun to eat as our gingerbread sleigh or gingerbread house!

Christmas book

Tonight, my son is going to read us Wake up Bear! which I am truly looking forward to as I remember it being a special story we enjoyed last time we read it.

Lego advent calendars for days 17 to 19

Our advent calendar themes continue as we move ever closer to Christmas Day.

day 17

My daughter was very happy to find a stand for the proud cat, including a ramp and scratching post ‘just like a real scratching post thinggy’.

day 18

On day eighteen, we found what I call a lamp post, although lamp posts don’t usually have bows on them so I’m not entirely sure what it actually is meant to be! Any suggestions for me?

day 19

There were sounds of excitement as my daughter discovered another trailer for the snow mobile to pull along so Stephanie can take her menagerie with her! In lining them up, I also realised that the ‘smaller cat’ was actually a cute little mouse which makes more sense than one small and one tall, proud cat!

Lego City

day 17

Over in Lego City, we discovered a helicopter on Saturday furthering the collection of vehicles for my son.

day 18

When asked what he found yesterday, my son told me it was ‘the lady who controls the helicopter’. She is in a work suit and holds a walkie talkie – maybe she controls all the vehicles.

day 19

We must be getting closer to the 25th, as we have started getting the Christmas items with a Christmas tree! Compared to previous years, I was a little surprised it is just a plain tree without decorations.

Lego advent day 19

Moving onto day nineteen of the Christmas count down! There are now five more flaps to open…

Lego Friends tonight may be small but offers lots of play options as it is a storage unit for ice-hockey sticks and pucks. My daughter was quite happy with the set, especially once she understood the pucks (initially she was upset at the lack of a ball!)

In a nice surprise, the Lego city calendar today gave my son a Lego girl! She is holding a cupcake (not an ice-cream!) and a mobile phone – I’d be happier if the phone wasn’t pink but it’s nice a girl was included my son’s set.
