The story (box set)
Bluey’s Little Library is actually a series of box set of books. Each book in this set is about an aspect of summer Christmas celebrations. The set consists of four books:
- Christmas Eve
- Christmas Day
- Christmas food
- Hooray, presents!
My review of Bluey Christmas Little Library
The four books obviously have the usual Bluey characters and artwork. So they will be familiar to young fans.
As board books, they are safe for little hands to hold and play with them. And are a good size for those little hands, too.
Each book is an independent story, but there is a strong correlation with existing Bluey books. For instance, Christmas Eve is a short version of Verandah Santa and Christmas Day has scenes from Bluey Christmas swim. Both the other books remind me of the 2023 Myer windows, too, with food, tables and gifts matching the windows and related books.
Of course the books are simple and don’t really have a plot. But the Christmas fun and familiarity will override that for young readers.
Would I recommend Bluey Christmas Little Library? Yes, I would! I enjoyed looking at them myself so a lover of Bluey would be beside themselves! This little library is simple enough that not having read the previous books (or seen the episodes on TV) will not detract from the fun.
